What electric guitar string gauge should I use?

For most electric guitar players in standard tuning, .009–.042 or .010–.046 is a good starting point. Lighter gauges generally feel easier to bend, while heavier gauges provide more tension and can be useful for players who prefer a firmer feel or use lower tunings.
