About Bass Signature Series
Our Bass Signature Series sets are the sets four working bassists asked us to build. Each one is a specific wrap, construction and gauge that a player wanted on their own instrument, made on the same machines and to the same tolerances as the rest of our line.
The sets
David Ellefson — bassist for Metal Church and Kings of Thrash, and formerly of Megadeth. Six of the nine sets here are his, across two constructions. His Power Wound sets are nickel-plated steel over a high carbon steel core, in .045–.105 four-string and .045–.128 five-string, each made in standard long and extra long scale. His Fusion Wound sets use the bonded under-wrap construction for a tighter, more focused low end, in .045–.105 four-string and .045–.125 five-string. All six are built for an aggressive low end with cutting mids.
Nikki Sixx — bassist for Mötley Crüe. His set is .055–.115, the heaviest we make in the series. Power Wound nickel-plated steel, for a thick, driving rock tone with a firm feel and strong output.
Eric Bass — bassist for Shinedown. His set is .050–.110 stainless steel, the only stainless set in the series, built for maximum brightness, hard attack and cutting power.
Mohini Dey — .045–.125 five-string Fusion Wound nickel, built for fast response and clarity across the whole neck.

Which of these you can find in our standard lines
Worth knowing before you buy, because the answer is not the same for all of them.
Two of these gauges we make nowhere else. Ellefson's five-string Power Wound set is the only .045–.128 in our long-scale nickel line, and Nikki Sixx's .055–.115 is the only four-string at that tension we make at all. If you want either of those gauges from us, these are the only sets that have them.
The others have a standard equivalent. Ellefson's four-string Power Wound set is our Power Wound Nickel .045–.105 Medium Light. His Fusion Wound sets, and Mohini Dey's, are our Fusion Wound Nickel .045–.105 Medium Light and .045–.125 Light. Eric Bass's set is our Power Steel Stainless .050–.110 Medium Heavy. Same gauges, same construction, same line — so if your preferred signature set is ever out of stock, you already know what to order instead.
How the Signature Series compares to our other bass sets
Power Wound Nickel is our warm, punchy flagship and the widest bass line we make, in more scale lengths and constructions than anything else here. Power Steel Stainless is brighter and harder-hitting. Fusion Wound Nickel and Fusion Wound Stainless are the tighter, more focused constructions. Foundations Nickel and Foundations Stainless are brighter and more flexible, Silencer Nickel Semi-Flat cuts finger noise, and Power Flat flatwounds go furthest toward a smooth, mellow response.
