Power Wound Nickel in .045–.100 (NR45100XL) is standard tension on the top three strings with a lighter low E.

Power Wound is nickel-plated steel wrapped over a high carbon steel hex core. It is the warm, punchy voice most people mean when they say bass strings: clear highs, strong mids and a low end with real weight behind it.
