Power Wound Nickel in .045–.105 (PCNR45105L) is the standard four-string gauge, exposed core.
Power Wound is nickel-plated steel wrapped over a high carbon steel hex core. It is the warm, punchy voice most people mean when they say bass strings: clear highs, strong mids and a low end with real weight behind it.
The core sits bare where the string crosses the saddle, for maximum vibration transfer, the strongest fundamental and the most articulation. The bare section runs about 1 7/8" to 2" from the ball end.
Fit: Standard long scale, for most 34" scale basses. About 37.25" usable winding length (ball end to taper), 48"–49" overall. Measurements are approximate. Made in the USA.
