Power Wound Nickel in .018–.105 (NR818105L) is the heaviest of our three octave eight-string sets, with the mains of a full standard four-string set.

Each of the four courses pairs a main string with a second string tuned an octave above it, so the bass plays E, A, D and G with the octave ringing alongside.

Power Wound is nickel-plated steel wrapped over a high carbon steel hex core. It is the warm, punchy voice most people mean when they say bass strings: clear highs, strong mids and a low end with real weight behind it.
