Power Wound Nickel in .050–.130 (TNR550130L) is a heavier five-string set, taper wound.
Power Wound is nickel-plated steel wrapped over a high carbon steel hex core. It is the warm, punchy voice most people mean when they say bass strings: clear highs, strong mids and a low end with real weight behind it.
The low strings are taper wound: the wrap thins where the string crosses the bridge saddle, which tightens the low end, sharpens intonation and adds sustain.
Fit: Standard long scale, for most 34" scale basses. About 37.25" usable winding length (ball end to taper), 48"–49" overall. The bridge taper starts about 1 7/8" to 2" from the ball end. Measurements are approximate. Made in the USA.
