Power Wound Nickel in .045–.125 (NR545125G&L) is the standard five-string gauge, cut for G&L.

Power Wound is nickel-plated steel wrapped over a high carbon steel hex core. It is the warm, punchy voice most people mean when they say bass strings: clear highs, strong mids and a low end with real weight behind it.
