Bass Strings

Will Power Flat flatwound or Silencer semi-flat strings fit my bass?

Quick Answer

Power Flat flatwounds measure about 36.75 inches (plus or minus 1/4 inch) and are made for standard long-scale basses. Silencer semi-flats measure about 37.25 inches. Do not cut flatwound strings.

Power Flats are often not suitable for string-through-body basses or some 35-inch basses. Check your measurements before ordering.

Don't cut flatwounds to make them fit. Flatwound strings are generally less forgiving than roundwounds when cut.

Silencer semi-flats match the usable winding length of our long scale roundwound strings, so they fit many of the same instruments.

Measure your current string from the ball end to the taper and compare. If you're unsure, contact S.I.T. before ordering.
