Silencer Semi-Flat in .009–.046 (SL946) keeps a light top with a heavier bottom.

Silencer strings are made with an inverse winding process that compresses the outer wrap while leaving the inside of the string intact. The smoother surface cuts most of the squeal you get dragging fingers along the wound strings, and they still sound much closer to a roundwound than to a flatwound.
