Silencer Semi-Flat in .010–.046 (SL1046) is the standard set and where most players start. If you already play a .010–.046 set and the only thing you would change is the squeak on a recording, this is the direct swap.

Silencer strings are made with an inverse winding process that compresses the outer wrap while leaving the inside of the string intact. The smoother surface cuts most of the squeal you get dragging fingers along the wound strings, and they still sound much closer to a roundwound than to a flatwound.
