Silencer Semi-Flat in .010–.042 (SL404RIC) is our 12-string electric set, built for vintage-style electric twelves.
Silencer strings are made with an inverse winding process that compresses the outer wrap while leaving the inside of the string intact. The smoother surface cuts most of the squeal you get dragging fingers along the wound strings, and they still sound much closer to a roundwound than to a flatwound.
Twelve strings mean twice as many wound strings to drag a hand across, which is the problem the compressed surface solves. The top two courses are unison pairs; the bottom four are octave pairs.
