Silencer Nickel Semi-Flat in .045–.100 (NRL45100L) has a standard feel on the top three strings with a lighter low E.
Silencer bass strings are made with an inverse winding process that compresses the outer wrap while leaving the inside of the string intact. The smoother surface cuts most of the squeal you get dragging fingers along a roundwound, and the strings still sound much closer to a roundwound than to a flatwound. That smooth surface is also easier on an unlined fingerboard, so these suit fretless basses.
Fit: Standard long scale, for most 34" scale basses. About 37.25" usable winding length (ball end to taper), 48"–49" overall. Measurements are approximate. Made in the USA.
