Scotty’s lap steel set in E7th tuning, .015–.056 (SC8E7TH), eight strings.

A major sounding tuning, used by Hawaiian and Country Western players and probably the second most popular tuning there is. This set can also be retuned to C# minor 7th, A6th or B11th.

Silencer strings are made with an inverse winding process that compresses the outer wrap while leaving the inside of the string intact. The smoother surface cuts the noise the bar makes travelling along the strings, and they still sound much closer to a roundwound than to a flatwound.

These were made with Dewitt “Scotty” Scott and his shop, Scotty’s Music in Missouri. Scotty founded the International Steel Guitar Convention, and these are the strings he played.

Made in the USA.
