Scotty’s lap steel set in A6th tuning, .015–.034 (SC6A6TH), six strings.

West coast players made this one popular with the big Western Swing bands, and Steel Guitar Hall of Fame member Herb Remington is the player most associated with it.

Silencer strings are made with an inverse winding process that compresses the outer wrap while leaving the inside of the string intact. The smoother surface cuts the noise the bar makes travelling along the strings, and they still sound much closer to a roundwound than to a flatwound.

These were made with Dewitt “Scotty” Scott and his shop, Scotty’s Music in Missouri. Scotty founded the International Steel Guitar Convention, and these are the strings he played.

Made in the USA.
