Scotty’s Non-Pedal / Lap Steel Guitar Strings – .010–.030 (SC6E13TH E13 6-String)
Made in Akron, Ohio. Ships within 2 business days.
Scotty’s lap steel set in E13th tuning, .010–.030 (SC6E13TH), six strings.
Used widely from the late 1930s through the 40s and 50s, by Hall of Fame players including Speedy West, Don Helms and Little Roy Wiggins. It also goes by E6th or C# minor 7th.
Silencer strings are made with an inverse winding process that compresses the outer wrap while leaving the inside of the string intact. The smoother surface cuts the noise the bar makes travelling along the strings, and they still sound much closer to a roundwound than to a flatwound.
These were made with Dewitt “Scotty” Scott and his shop, Scotty’s Music in Missouri. Scotty founded the International Steel Guitar Convention, and these are the strings he played.
Made in the USA.
