- 5th fret: F major, D minor, F6
- 7th fret: G major, E minor, G6
- 12th fret: C major, A minor, C6 (an octave up)
For a basic I-IV-V in any key, find the I chord, then the IV is 5 frets higher and the V is 7 frets higher. In C, that's open, 5th fret and 7th fret.
For a major chord, leave out string 3 (A). Including it turns the chord into a 6th.
Dominant 7th chords aren't available with a straight bar in C6. A slanted bar or a partial grip gets you that sound.
See the full fret-by-fret chart, I-IV-V positions in five keys and a simple dominant 7th grip in our lap steel chords guide.
