Sanjay Kumar, better known by his progressive metal project Foi, is a guitarist, producer, educator, and mixing engineer based in Bangalore, India. As the founder, primary songwriter, and driving creative force behind Foi, Sanjay has built a reputation for combining technical proficiency, modern progressive metal influences, and thoughtful songwriting into a unique musical identity.
Active in the Indian music industry for more than a decade, Sanjay has established himself as a highly versatile musician, working professionally as a live and studio guitarist, producer, mixer, and educator. Despite being entirely self-taught, he has developed a deep understanding of both performance and music production, allowing him to contribute across multiple areas of the industry.
Passionate about music education, Sanjay is dedicated to helping musicians learn through practical, real-world approaches. Through his online music school, clinics, and workshops, he focuses on making music more accessible while sharing techniques, concepts, and creative ideas that students can immediately apply to their own playing.
In addition to his work with Foi, Sanjay tours internationally as guitarist for renowned Indian folk artist Raghu Dixit and The Raghu Dixit Project, performing for audiences around the world.
