About

Ryan Johnson is a bassist, performer, content creator, and recording musician whose diverse musical background has made him a sought-after player across multiple genres. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, by way of Detroit, Michigan, Ryan's passion for music began at an early age, inspired by a musical family and countless hours creating rhythms on pots and pans in his grandmother's kitchen.

At the age of 15, Ryan began playing drums in church, developing a strong sense of rhythm and musicality that would later become the foundation of his bass playing. As he entered adulthood, his love for music expanded beyond percussion when he picked up the bass guitar while serving as a secondary musician for a ministry in Augusta, Georgia.

Ryan's growth on the instrument was rapid, earning recognition from influential musicians who quickly noticed his natural ability and versatility. Known for his adaptability and deep understanding of groove, Ryan developed a reputation for excelling in a wide variety of musical styles while maintaining a distinctive voice on the instrument.

His combination of technical skill, musical sensitivity, and professionalism has led to performances on numerous stages and tours alongside both Contemporary Christian Music and R&B artists. Ryan believes that great musicianship requires more than technical ability—it requires being in tune with the artist, fellow musicians, the audience, and most importantly, the instrument itself.

In addition to performing and recording, Ryan shares his passion for music through educational and lifestyle content on his YouTube channel, where he connects with fellow musicians and bass enthusiasts. He currently performs as the bassist for internationally recognized recording artist Trey McLaughlin.
