About

Frédéric Caillat-Miousse is a French bassist whose passion for music and dedication to his craft have made him a respected and versatile performer in both the metal and classical music worlds. Since first picking up the bass guitar in 2000, Frédéric has continually developed his skills through self-discipline, experience, and a relentless desire to grow as a musician.

Largely self-taught, Frédéric quickly established himself within the local metal scene, performing with various bands and gaining valuable experience both on stage and in the studio. Over the years, he has expanded his musical horizons, exploring a wide range of styles while refining his technique and developing a distinctive approach to the instrument.

Among his recent accomplishments, Frédéric recorded bass tracks for the fifth album by Ellipsis, Sadistikal Mentaculus (2022), showcasing his precision, power, and adaptability as a recording musician. He also joined French metal band Les Enfants de Dagon, contributing to their debut album De Profundis (2022) and performing live with the group.

Committed to continual improvement, Frédéric has returned to formal musical studies at a conservatory, where he is currently studying classical double bass in addition to bass guitar. This combination of modern metal performance and classical training has helped further broaden his musical perspective and strengthen his technical foundation.

Whether performing aggressive metal, recording in the studio, or studying classical repertoire, Frédéric brings the same dedication, passion, and attention to detail that have defined his musical journey for more than two decades.
