About

Curtis Crane is a guitarist, songwriter, and founding member of the Christian rock and metal band KillDevil Theory. Combining a strong foundation in classical music with a lifelong passion for hard rock and heavy metal, Curtis has developed a distinctive style that blends technical precision, melodic sensibility, and powerful songwriting.

Although classically trained, Curtis was heavily influenced by legendary bands such as AC/DC and Dream Theater. These influences helped shape his approach to guitar playing and composition, allowing him to merge traditional musical techniques with modern rock and metal energy.

In 2010, Curtis founded KillDevil Theory with the goal of creating music that delivers messages of faith, hope, and perseverance through a powerful blend of rock, heavy metal, and classical influences. Since its formation, the band has released three full-length albums: KDT (2017), Black Jack (2018), and Second Coming (2021). The band's music combines memorable songwriting, dynamic musicianship, and inspirational themes that resonate with listeners across multiple genres.

As one of the band's primary songwriters, Curtis continues to play a central role in shaping the sound and direction of KillDevil Theory. The band is currently in the studio working on new material planned for release in 2025.

Whether performing on stage, writing new music, or recording in the studio, Curtis remains committed to creating impactful music that combines technical musicianship with a positive message.

Why S.I.T.?

“Curtis tours with a 7-string guitar, a standard-tuned 6-string, and a Drop D-tuned 6-string. Because of this, he has embraced S.I.T. Strings due to their variety and quality. They feel great, take a beating, and stay in tune. Currently, he uses Universal Balanced Tension 7-String Electric Strings, Power Steel Stainless Extra Light PS942 strings for standard tuning on his Parker Fly, and CRT Coated 10-46 strings for Drop D tuning on his Gibson SG. All performed flawlessly on tour recently in support of U.D.O. When utilizing acoustic guitars, Curtis prefers the Phosphor Bronze Ultra Light P946 set.”
