Chris DeAngelis is a bassist, composer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Connecticut whose diverse musical background has made him a respected figure in the worlds of fusion, funk, jazz, rock, and improvisational music. Known for his versatility, creativity, and dynamic playing style, Chris has built a career that spans touring, recording, composing, and producing across a wide range of musical projects.

Chris began playing electric bass in middle school, but his passion for the instrument truly developed after high school while attending Western Connecticut State University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance with a concentration in upright acoustic bass. His musical approach draws inspiration from legendary bassists including Dave Holland, Jaco Pastorius, Paul McCartney, Paul Jackson, Bootsy Collins, John Patitucci, and Ray Brown, while his broader musical influences range from Steely Dan, Radiohead, and The Beach Boys to Pat Metheny, Jethro Tull, A Tribe Called Quest, Brad Mehldau, and John Coltrane.

Throughout his career, Chris has toured, recorded, and performed with an impressive list of acclaimed musicians including Jon Fishman, John Popper, Ron Holloway, Oteil Burbridge, DJ Logic, Bill Evans, Stanley Jordan, Bernard Purdie, Jon Herington, Cory Henry, Piero Odorici, and many others.

Chris currently serves as bassist, vocalist, and composer for the nationally touring fusion-funk powerhouse Kung Fu, while also performing the same roles with Connecticut jam-band favorites The Breakfast. In addition, he tours with Jazz is Phish, an acclaimed collective featuring members of the Trey Anastasio Band, Snarky Puppy, and other celebrated artists, reimagining the music of Phish through a jazz lens.

Beyond his band work, Chris writes, records, and produces original music through his solo project LoEndFreque, showcasing his broad musical vision and creative range. He is also an accomplished filmmaker and video producer, creating visual content for Kung Fu and his own projects.

Chris performs on Fender and B&K Custom basses and is proudly endorsed by Aguilar Amplification and S.I.T. Strings.
