About

Allen McKenzie is a veteran bassist whose career spans decades of touring, recording, and performing with some of rock's most recognizable artists and bands. Best known as the longtime bassist for multi-platinum rock band FireHouse, Allen has earned a reputation for his powerful playing, professionalism, and dedication to delivering great performances night after night.

Since joining FireHouse in 2004, Allen has toured extensively throughout the United States and internationally, helping carry forward the legacy of one of the most successful melodic hard rock bands of the late 1980s and 1990s. During his tenure with the band, he has contributed to releases including Full Circle and Monster Ballads Christmas, while performing the band's catalog for audiences around the world.

Prior to FireHouse, Allen built a strong following as a member of Ohio hard rock band Foxx, recording two albums and establishing himself as a respected bassist on the regional rock scene. Throughout his career, he has also performed with notable artists and projects including Jani Lane of Warrant, Peacetree, and progressive rock band Quest.

Allen's extensive performing career has allowed him to share stages with legendary acts such as Mötley Crüe, Styx, and Yes, further cementing his place within the rock community.

Today, Allen continues touring and recording with FireHouse while proudly performing on his custom C.R. Alsip 5-string bass. Having trusted S.I.T. Strings since 1988, he remains one of the company's longest-standing artist relationships.

Why S.I.T.?

“I’ve been playing S.I.T. Strings since 1988. They truly live up to their name. They stay in tune, sound consistently great, and are much easier on my fretwork. I wouldn’t trust anything else on my bass.”
