They are made for nylon-string classical and flamenco guitars, and they will not work on a steel-string acoustic. The sound is warm and round with a soft attack, and the sets hold their pitch once they have finished stretching in.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThere are two things to decide — tension and how the strings attach at the bridge — and one optional upgrade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eChoosing a tension\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMedium tension is the standard choice. It feels comfortable, responds to a light touch and suits most guitars and most players. High tension raises the string's resistance, which gives more volume, a tighter attack and more dynamic range at the cost of a firmer feel. Players who dig in, play with a strong right hand, or need to project in a room usually prefer it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eTie-end or ball-end\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTie-end is the traditional classical build: you tie the string to the bridge yourself. Ball-end sets have a ball fitted to the end of each string so they load like a steel-string acoustic. There is no tonal difference — it is purely how you attach them. If you have ever fought a classical bridge knot, buy ball-end.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eClassits or Classits Elite\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eElite sets use upgraded treble strings. The nylon is held to a tighter tolerance, which improves intonation up the neck and evens out the response between the three treble strings. The wound basses are the same, and so are the gauges.
