Brian Russell is a veteran musician and educator who has devoted most of his life to playing and teaching the guitar. A native South Floridian, Brian has had the pleasure of working with GRAMMY award winning producers Chris Rodriguez (C-Rod), Juan Cristobal Losada (Sonic Projects), artists Aaron Tindall, Julio Iglesias, John Secada, Nicolas Reyes (Gypsy Kings), Raul Midon, Rachel Bay Jones (Pippin), and musicals such as Rock of Ages, Tommy, Freaky Friday, The Last Five Years, Wicked, and Billy Elliot (to name a few). Brian’s Attitude Adjustment EP with his band The Brian Russell Alliance was released in February 2016 and has a second release due out soon.
Brian currently serves as the Director of Contemporary Guitar studies for the Bruce Hornsby Creative American Music program at the University of Miami Frost School of Music in Coral Gables, FL. As an educator/clinician and a GRAMMY Music Educator Award (MEA) Quarterfinalist for 2017, 2018, and 2019, Brian has delivered guitar instructional clinics in California, Florida, Colorado, Tennessee, and New York. Additionally, as a researcher and Ph. D. he serves as editorial board member for several music education journals and his music research studies have been presented and published both nationally and internationally.
