Kevin Barahona

My Name is Kevin Barahona, I have been playing music since I was eleven years old and I have been studying music since I was twelve. At the age of fifteen the bass chose me and while I was reluctant at first, it quickly became my favorite instrument and I never looked back. Throughout the years music, and more specifically the bass, has taken me on an amazing journey in life. Traveling to new states and countries, learning about new cultures and its music, and so much more. I’ve been blessed to realize some of my wildest dreams, to founding a music school, studying at Berklee College of Music, and playing with some amazing artists like Onell Diaz, Lucas Conslie and so many other Latin artists. It truly has been a privilege what the bass has done for me.

Why S.i.T. ?

I heard about S.I.T at NAMM and there I met Tim P. We talked and at the end of our conversation he shared a set of the Fusion Wound bass strings. I immediately went to the hotel and put the strings on my bass and I was hooked. The sound is exactly what I hear in my head it was the missing piece to the tone I wanted to achieve. Also, the feeling of the stings is so soft it’s like butter. My hands glide easily against the strings I have never played a string like that before. I’ve had the opportunity to try other sets Iike the Foundations set or the Power Wound set and while those are also really good I always find myself going back to the Fusion Wound set standard 45 to 105 on my four string and 45 to 125 on the five string.
