Elias Tona
Elias Tona, bass guitarists, hailing from Venezuela, his authenticity to perform vast repertoire and styles (i.e., Classical guitar piece on bass; all jazz genres; Black American music genres; Latin American music genres, Pop, Fusion; and global music styles) make him a pristine session bassist and touring artist. From tours with Al Di Meola (2015-current), Sandy Patti, Kim Burrell, La India, Jerry Rivera, to working with local artists in Florida, Elias’s adaptability, kindness, and artistic sensitivity is second to none. Elias has earned two Grammy® Award nominations and most recently, the 2021 Emmy® Award Nomination for a Television Commercial Advertisement category. Elias’s album, “Profile”, explores the wide angles of his artistry on solo bass guitar pieces and arrangements from different traiditons, regions, and eras of the world. The album has garnered acclaim including a Featured Artist Interview for the reputable For Bass Players Only Magazine.
Elias has worked lately in tours and recording sessions with renowned musicians, among them: Philippe Saisse, Gumbi Ortiz, Tom Brechtlein, Danny Gotlieb, Euro Zambrano (Percussionist for Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder), among others.
