Cameron Dewald

Gorgatron

With a focus on playing note-for-note with guitars for maximum tonal delivery of the riff, Gorgatron bassist Cameron Dewald has caught the attention of many fretboard watchers and musicians across the U.S., Canada, and Europe for his execution and clarity both live and in recordings. That being said, when not playing Death Metal, Dewald has found a home in the pocket, grooving with Stoner/Fuzz Rock outfit El Supremo, as well as with Punk Rock legends Green Jello and Cleopatra Records Goth Rock band 616. “I’m a less-is-more person when it comes to tone chasing. If you can’t get it done with the fundamentals—such as strings, a proper instrument setup, your hands, and knowing your tone—then you’re up shit’s creek without a paddle.”

Why S.i.T.?

“I’ve been aware of S.I.T. for years; in fact, some of my major influences are S.I.T. artists. After years of hit-and-miss string performance with other companies, I contacted the S.I.T. crew, and they were beyond helpful and enthusiastic. A few days later, my strings showed up, and I was instantly hooked. First off, it’s no gimmick; these strings truly STAY IN TUNE. They’re insanely stable through an hour-plus set and in day-to-day touring/travel. Most importantly, they deliver a clear, punchy tone while maintaining proper tension and always feel fresh!”
