Eric Taylor of Saving Abel
Hello SIT Player!
Eric Taylor, born in Tennessee, but found his way down to Mississippi around the age 10. "I learned at an early age that if you want something in life, you got to work for it". At age 13, he convinced a couple families down the road to let him cut their lawn every week. He took his earnings to buy his first guitar.
After a few years of playing guitar in church, he was ready for something new. The bass player at his church gave him a bass, and he never went back to picking up the guitar. Over the years Eric went through a couple of bands during and after high school but never really went anywhere with it. " I Got married in 2005 and kind of put playing live up on a shelf for a bit. My wife came home one day and said that someone she worked with sang for a band that needed a bass player". He didn't know at that time, but that someone was someone he has known since the age of 6. Long story short, Eric end up the bass player in a band that would become the 'Saving Abel' that everyone knows. They signed to Virgin Records in 2007 and the debut album came out in 2008. With the huge success of Saving Abel's singles 'Addicted', '18 Days', and 'Drowning', the album went gold in 2009. The Bands second album, "Miss America", came out earlier this summer. And the first single "Stupid Girl" peaked at 5 on the rock charts; the current single: "The Sex is Good" is rapidly climbing the charts. Go out, grab a copy of "Miss America", and come catch a show. Eric Taylor & Saving Abel will be out on tour with Hinder all winter.
