Kama-Mara was started in the summer of 2009 in Glendale, Arizona by Adrian Medina ( lead vocals/ bass ), Chris Nunely ( guitar / backing vocals )and Alex Morgan ( drums ).  As a three piece, the members have been best friends for over 9 years but have never played together, except for previous bands ( not all three were ever together, always in 2's ).  The influences of Kama-Mara range from Charles Mingus to Blood Freak and with the wide range musical talent, sounds are an endless blend of thrash metal and grindcore with a mix of jam band and progressive funk.  The band has just currently trademarked their name and logo and is in the process of booking a west-coast tour to promote their first full-length album "Mortal Angst".  It has only been a year since the birth of Kama-Mara and they have blown up in the Phoenix underground and it is very clear that they are growing quickly.

" Heavy as fuck! As though a giant was creeping up on me, creepy intervals of whisphered voices had me seeing shadow people during the day, and just when I started thinking to myself, Arizona Death Metal, they throw in some funk with psycho poetry, then switch it up to some hardcore punk with hoarse screams then back into Death Metal with a touch of jam band solos and a trace of stoner rock. The last song was straight from HELL- Tribal elements with demonic chants. All and all the whole thing is intermixed with skills and surprises that keep you wondering whats next. I think I even heard some Celtic winds blowing in there somewhere and a dude talking about a cigarette. Definetly a band to keep your eye on."
