Crash Kelly
f you're going to do something, ya better do it right.
That's why CRASH KELLY enlisted the production skills
of none other than former GUNS N ROSES axe-slinger
GILBY CLARKE to produce ELECTRIC SATISFACTION,
the Toronto band's sophomore release for US Rock N
Roll imprint Liquor and Poker Music. Following up an
album like the "glam classic in waiting" debut PENNY
PILLS would be no easy task, what with the critical
acclaim garnered from publications such as SPIN, The
Village Voice and Classic Rock, but CRASH KELLY knew
what had to be done.
ELECTRIC SATISFACTION was recorded in the City of
Angels, a fitting backdrop for CK leader SEAN KELLY's
tales of faded glitter on the boulevard of broken
dreams. Clarke's affinity for classic production
techniques and Kelly's penchant for crafting songs
steeped in the tradition of 70's power pop, glam, and
classic rock, has resulted in an album that is
guaranteed to "put the shock in your rock n roll".
An in-demand session player, Sean Kelly was chosen
as a top 10 finalist in Guitar Player magazine’s Guitar
Hero 2005 competition, and he puts his "70's boogie
on the 80's sunset strip" style of lead guitar to stellar
use on ELECTRIC SATISFACTION. His velvet and
whiskey-soaked voice is augmented by co-guitarist
ALLISTER THOMPSON piping in with Thin Lizzy-esque
guitar harmonies and Keith Richards approved slash
and burn. The powerhouse rhythm section of JORDAN
MICHAEL STEWART and KEVIN TAYLOR anchor the
line-up, and help to lay a most solid foundation for the
house that Rock built.
Tour Dates in the USA, Canada, The UK, Ireland,
Holland, and Germany with the likes of Alice Cooper,
The Quireboys, Backyard Babies, Enuff Z'Nuff, The
Black Halos and countless other rock warriors has
helped CRASH KELLY develop a show that is equal
parts Madison Square Garden strut and swagger and
CBGB's frenetic energy.
