9mm SOLUTION
Since their inception in 2003, 9mm SOLUTION have taken a no holds barred approach to making their mark on the scene. Hailing from Milwaukee Wisconsin, they have built up a solid following within their hometown and abroad. After three demos over the course of three years, it wasn't until 2006 when they reached their full potential and hooked up with long time friend and SOiL bassist Tim King.
King took his ever growing experience and knowledge of having worked with such industry name sakes as Clive Davis, Johnny K, Nick Raskulinecz, Randy Staub, Kevin Shirley, and Ulrich Wild, among others, and put it to use with producing and arranging 9mm SOLUTION's material. They entered the studio in early 2006 and recorded a 2 song demo featuring the songs "Hate This Place" and "Visualize To Terrorize". This demo turned many heads in the music industry and helped put the 9mm SOLUTION name on the map worldwide. Combining these two songs with select tracks off their previous demos, King sent out the full length compilation "One Shot… One Kill" to be worked to college metal and active rock specialty radio. Peaking the charts at 7, 9mm SOLUTION was asked to be a part of metal radio festivals in Tulsa OK, Des Moines IA, Milwaukee WI, and Madison WI. This even furthered the bands strong hold on the midwest market.
Combining great melodic hooks both musically and vocally along with an almost "Reservior Dogs" type stage image, the band quickly got the attention they deserved in their hometown scene and abroad. While continually being conscious that in this day and age a "story" must be built by up and coming bands, they began to write new material with the techniques and skills they had learned and developed by working with Tim King on the previous demo.
After completing an array of new material, the band sent rough demos to King who was even more eagar to work with them again. This time, as King states, "The band had taken everything I had taught them from the first demo and incorporated it ten fold with the new material." Once again they entered the studio, in January 2007. This time they recorded two more songs with King producing. During this session, however, they brought the new material even further by having Ulrich Wild (Pantera, Alice In Chains, Deftones, Static X) mix the two new songs. "The songs turned out more incredible than we could have imagined," states guitarist Dave Gregor. "This time around we felt as if we had truly got the right formula for our sound."
The new demo featuring the songs "Suicide Letter" and "The Dream Is Dead" combined with the previous demo of "Hate This Place" and "Visualize To Terrorize". The combined cuts will be sent out to key labels, radio stations, and press for the purpose of securing a full length release. "The band has worked hard and is finally at the level to where they deserve to put out a full length," explains King. "Ulrich Wild is behind the project and so am I. We are confident we have a band that needs to be heard on our hands".
