Beyond The Sun
We're a band made up of three brothers from a small town east of Toronto, Ontario Canada. Dalton and I started taking lessons 11 years ago, while Colin has been playing bass for nearly 9 years. We range in age from 20-15 and we've been writing/performing for the last 8 years. We've grown and learned a lot along the way. In the beginning we were a four piece band called Hidden Echo, at the end of 2005 we changed our name to Beyond the Sun. Our singers have come and gone over the years, but our goal remains the same. Colin has been in vocal training with a leading expert in the GTA for the last 6 years and we felt now was the time to focus on the three of us. We've been fortunate in our past achievements. We won four battle of the bands against guys that were 2-3 times our age, we hold the record as the youngest band to ever showcase at Canadian Music Week and to qualify as a finalist in 97.7 HTZ Fm's Rocksearch. We won a contest in 2005 and were hired for a two week tour in the suburbs of New York City and New Jersey. We have played for all ages at venues ranging from local bars, the neighborhood school right up to some of Ontario's most prestigious Festivals opening for headliners like Jeff Healey, David Wilcox, State of Shock, Teenage Head and Canadian Idol Kalan Porter. We've played at Sport Venues, including the Ricoh Coliseum, The Rogers Centre & The Air Canada Centre. We're proud to be a crowd favourite at The Toronto Argonauts Tailgate Parties and thanks to the fans requests we've been performing there seven years.
Our last EP titled "Jekyll and Hyde", was recorded in the Spring of 2009, it's the first time we have used a lot of different instruments in the studio such as french horns, cello, violins, all types of percussion, etc. We are all pleased with the final outcome and hope you are as well!
Currently we are working with Multi-Platinum producer Rick Beato on new material. We are hoping to release a new EP in the summer of 2012. Until then stay tuned for video updates, acoustic covers and more news from the studio.
